Theth – Shkodër

Nestled deep in the Albanian Alps, Theth is one of the country’s most picturesque villages. Surrounded by high peaks and waterfalls, it’s a paradise for hikers. The famous Blue Eye of Theth (Syri i Kaltër i Thethit) and Grunas Waterfall are must-see spots. Reachable by car from Shkodër (3–4 hours).

Valbona Valley – Tropojë

Part of the Valbonë National Park, this breathtaking valley offers alpine trails, wooden guesthouses, and fresh mountain air. Many visitors hike between Theth and Valbona — one of Albania’s most scenic routes. Accessible by ferry across Lake Koman or by car from Bajram Curri.

Koman Lake – Shkodër

Often compared to the fjords of Norway, this artificial lake created by the Drin River offers one of the most spectacular boat rides in the Balkans. The ferry between Koman and Fierza passes through steep mountains and emerald-green water.

Shala River – Shkodër

Known as “The Albanian Thailand” for its turquoise waters, the Shala River can be visited by boat from Lake Koman. It’s perfect for swimming, kayaking, and escaping into pure nature.

Lepushe – Kelmend

A small alpine village near the Montenegrin border, surrounded by the peaks of the Accursed Mountains. Great for hiking, off-road adventures, and experiencing authentic highland life.

Llogara Pass – Vlorë

A breathtaking mountain pass that connects the Riviera with northern Albania. From here you can see the Ionian Sea spread below the clouds. Llogara National Park is also ideal for paragliding, hiking, and enjoying local mountain dishes.

Mount Cika – Himarë

Standing tall above the Riviera, Mount Cika offers stunning views over the Ionian coast. Adventurous hikers can start from Llogara or Dhermi and climb toward the summit (2,044 m).

Tomorr Mountain – Berat

A sacred mountain in southern Albania, known both for its religious pilgrimage and its wild beauty. The Tomorr National Park offers panoramic views, forests, and trails. It can be reached from Berat or Poliçan.

Dajti Mountain – Tirana

Just outside the capital, Mount Dajti is known as “Tirana’s Balcony.” You can reach it by cable car (Dajti Ekspres) and enjoy hiking trails, restaurants, and panoramic views over the city and the Adriatic Sea.

Korab Mountain – Dibër

The highest peak in Albania (2,764 m), located on the border with North Macedonia. The trail to the summit starts from Radomirë village and is popular with experienced hikers.

Sharr Mountains – Kukës

Stretching across northeastern Albania, the Sharr range is rich with alpine lakes, forests, and pastures. A perfect destination for eco-tourism and winter sports.

Osum Canyon – Berat

Known as “Albania’s Grand Canyon,” Osum stretches for about 26 km through dramatic cliffs and emerald water. You can raft through the canyon (in spring) or hike along its edges (in summer). Located 1.5 hours from Berat.

Lengarica Canyon – Përmet

A beautiful canyon carved by the Lengarica River, famous for its thermal baths at Bënja. Visitors can relax in natural hot springs and explore stone bridges dating back to the Ottoman era.

Blue Eye of Sarandë (Syri i Kaltër)

A natural spring near Muzinë, known for its deep blue color and mystical appearance. The cold water bubbles up from a depth of over 50 meters. Easily reachable by car from Sarandë or Gjirokastër.

Bovilla Lake – Tirana

A hidden gem just 15 km from Tirana, surrounded by rocky cliffs and mountains. The short hike to the Bovilla viewpoint offers an unforgettable panorama — perfect for photos and picnics.

Prespa Lake – Korçë

Shared between Albania, North Macedonia, and Greece, Prespa is a peaceful high-altitude lake home to rare bird species and small islands with ancient churches. Accessible from Korçë via Pustec village.

Ohrid Lake – Pogradec

A UNESCO World Heritage site, Lake Ohrid is one of the oldest lakes in the world. The city of Pogradec offers a relaxing promenade, fresh fish, and beautiful sunsets. Easy to reach by road from Elbasan or Korçë.
